A recent instructional clip from one of my favourite bassists offered a brilliant tie-in to writing. He spoke about how resolution and music go together. A bass line has to have some sort of resolution. The greatest classic rock songs with great bass parts are about answering something. It’s the guitar chords, it’s the few notes before.

Writing has to have a resolution.  A sentence, a word, a paragraph, it all needs to have resolution.  The resolution is the message. It is the story. It is the information you want the reader to have.

So it’s vital to ensure product produces a resolution. Having a clear resolution will increase the value of the content.
