What does a writer do?

We all could spend hours in “shop talk” describing what we do as word artists. I’ve edited down my possible job and artistic description to the following;

Writing is resolution. It is making sense of nonsense. When the nonsense still makes no sense, I work to find a humorous resolution to the nonsense.
