Stop Donating at the cash register. Here’s why.

Every week, every day. Some of the largest brands in the world force their underpaid cashiers to ask customers at the cash register if they want to donate funds to whatever charity they are supporting this week. Many people accept that invitation. Then, the large store brand gets to claim a tax write-off for donating to the charity of choice.

So, stop. Make donations yourselves. Tell those cashiers when they ask if you want to make a donation (politely) they deserve to be paid better especially after putting their lives on the line dealing with the anti-science anti-reality crowd that has caused so much trouble during the pandemic.
