Dave Brock and company have returned again with Stories From Time and Space. It is an atmospheric soundscape bringing ingredients of classic Hawkwind space-rock, along with jazz, industrial metal “What Are We Going To Do While We’re here” and even a kind of minimalism with classical tinges. A few times while listening to this album, I’ve picked up a few bars that reminded me of what some of the classic Krautrock acts would sound like if they were still producing music today. This is an element of Hawkwind that drew me to them in the first place.

The result is an excellent follow-up to last year’s well-received The Future Never Waits. Dave Brock and company still have much to say musically and lyrically. Stories of science-fiction, fantasy and embracing reality come together among great audio experiments. It is a joyful and fascinating hour of listening time that is well spent.
